It's BARCStoberfest

Calling all animal lovers: The Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter's BARCStoberfest takes place Saturday. The event, which serves as a fundraiser and community outreach day for the shelter's pets, presents activities for everyone from the family cat to kids and adults. Pups and cats will receive pampering with pet acupuncture. There will be K9 and agility demonstrations, plus costume and look-alike contests. And pet owners can browse arts and crafts, listen to live performances by local bands and eat food from area restaurants.

The second annual BARCStoberfest runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday on the corner of Eastern and Linwood avenues in Patterson Park. Rain date is Sunday. Call 410-396-4688 or go to baltimoreanimalshelter.org.
